Thank you Brian for organising this along with Jack. Seeing all of the nominations alone was inspirational enough and I hope this kind of community driven award for bloggers continues long into the future as it will inspire more people to blog and share their skills and thoughts.

That's great news Brian, thank you to both you and Jack for making this happen. I think the EU has an incredibly vibrant blogger community and to see it recognised like this is awesome.
Now, how do I get tickets for the event, or will you be letting just anyone in?!

I would share the sentiment regarding Facebook detecting this, in fact I am pleasantly surprised. I would put money on most companies not reviewing their DNS in the first place let alone the forensic follow up. I'm not a fan of Facebook but this does cast them in a slightly different light than before.

I am always upset to see that production software are signed without the supervision of a human trusted operator. The actual volume of software going out in the field as product should be low enough to allow such supervision without going through an automatic process.
Of course, for development, it may be useful to have an automatic signature through a server. but the development signature key should use a root key different from the production root key. this would provide proper isolation and avoid potential contamination.
Only verified, human approved, production software would go in the field.
