Tracking Santa

norad_small.gifFormed in 1958 under a bi-national agreement between the United States and Canada, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) is a military organisation responsible for the air-defence of North America.  NORAD provides warning of missile and air attacks against either Canada or the United States.

Using sophisticated systems NORAD track all objects flying across North American airspace.  On Christmas Eve a certain item will be given top priority as it traverses the globe and will be constantly monitored by NORAD to ensure its safe passage and that it completes its mission successfully.  That object is Santa’s sleigh.  NORAD have made this monitoring system available on the web so that children of all ages can track Santa’s progress on Christmas Eve.  The system is updated regularly and provides up to date commentary on the progress of Santa and his precious cargo.
