I am delighted to say that I have been selected to speak at the upcoming RSA Conference Europe 2009 in October. RSA Conference Europe is regarded as one of the top European information security events of the year so it is particularly exciting for me to be able to address so many of my peers. I will be giving a presentation based on the ID Theft project in which I gathered enough information to steal the identity of journalist Marie Boran.
It looks like the concept of being able to gather enough information from the Internet to steal the ID of an individual has struck a chord with many people. Hopefully we can use this as a starting point to better educate people about the risks. Hopefully we can also address how organisations should verify clients over the phone or via the Internet using information that is relatively easy to get.
