It appears that CERT/CC helped US authorities in their case against the 11 people charged with hacking into the TJX network and stealing over 40 million credit card details.
This is a great example of one of the benefits a CERT can provide the Internet community. Having professionals develop tools and skills in fighting cyber crime that in turn can assist law enforcement in putting criminals away is something that hopefully we shall see someday here in Ireland.

I know that in my own work to establish a CERT here in Ireland the resources provided by CERT have been invaluable. So do take a look.
