As we continue our journey to grow and expand, we have a requirement for a Data Protection Consultant role to join our data protection consulting team. Reporting to the Head of Data Protection Practice, you will support the delivery of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), GDPR, privacy, and data protection related services to our clients.
Job Title: Data Protection Consultant
Location: Remote (occasional infrequent travel)
Salary: €60k-70k (Plus OTE 15%-40%)
Who are you?
- You are already a data protection and/or privacy professional, ideally but not necessarily with client facing experience. You are a highly motivated, self-starter. You have a proven ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative when required to do so.
- You have developed a broad experience of data management practices, have operationalised GDPR requirements and have a thorough understanding of data protection management frameworks, including ISO 27701.
- You can deliver data protection related projects to clients, including, GDPR audits, maturity assessment, Data Protection Impact Assessments, ROPAs etc.
- You can manage client engagements from project assignment to completion.
- You are able to support the development of new service offerings in line with the changing data protection landscape to meet client needs.
Your core competencies:
- Ideally degree qualified, preferably to master’s degree level. Depending on experience, industry specific certification may be considered acceptable. Ideally hold one of the following qualifications: CIPP/E, CIPP, CPDSE, AIGP, CISSP
- Have an excellent understanding of GDPR, , the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU AI Act compliance risk management requirements, and how to operationalise them. Experience in other regulations such as the UK GDPR, the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), HIPAA, DORA, or NIS2 would be seen to be an advantage.
- Have experience and be comfortable working with non-technical business leaders when implementing data protection initiatives.
- Have experience of being a DPO or having DPO responsibilities
- Be comfortable delivering data protection awareness training to large or small audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to use a variety of communications styles, language, and media, to effectively build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail along with excellent project and time management skills.
- Delivery focused – ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Passion and drive – willingness to go that extra mile to achieve a target/objective.
- Collaborative – ability to cooperate and to communicate well, and to resolve differences of opinion quickly
Remuneration and Rewards
- Basic salary range €60,000 – €70,000 plus a generous OTE (15%-40%).
