For the third year in a row I am delighted to see that this Blog has been nominated for the “Best Blog of a Business” in this year’s Irish Blog Awards.  The brainchild of Damien Mulley, the Irish Blog Awards have grown from strength to strength and have in no small way contributed immensely to the quality of the Blogs now available in the Irish Blogosphere.

Over three years ago I started this Blog as a way of reaching our to clients, colleagues and anyone who is interested in matters relating to information security.  Very often it is a vehicle for me to capture my train of thought or to focus on an issue that I feel more should be done about.  Through this Blog I have been able to establish contacts with many like minded individuals and meet many fantastic people I otherwise would not have.  My upcoming book “Implementing ISO 27001 in a Windows Environment” is a direct result of this Blog.  

All the above are direct benefits that I have gotten from Blogging and by themselves are great rewards for the effort put into it.  However, nothing beats being recognised and appreciated for the work that you do.  So to whomever nominated Security Watch I would like to extend a big thank you for thinking so highly of the Blog.  To those of you who regularly read the Blog I would also like to thank you for taking the time to do so.  I realise that there are many Blogs out there and for you to spend some time with me here I do appreciate it.  If this is your first time here, welcome and I sincerely hope that you find this Blog to be of interest and that you will become a regular visitor.
